Drow Elves
"No spell is out of our reach, no text too forbidden, and no history we do not know" - Archmage Everstill
Remnants from an Ancient Time
No one knows how the Drow came to be. The drow elves that still roam Amora are the remnants of an ancient culture only known as "The Eldritch". With their ruins scattered throughout the world, the only known city of the Drow is the silver city of Tel'Merus, located somewhere on the continent of Krios (outsiders are mostly forbidden, but more are permitted into the city in more recent times). Drow elves are the only known link to the ancient Eldritch, with the only connection to them being a similar architecture and language. But one thing is for certain, the Drow have been on Amora a very long time, some of these immortal elves have lived for thousands upon thousands of years within Tel'Merus, but even they do not recall their ancient history. Today while most of the Drow still call home to Tel'Merus, few can be found in mage colleges throughout the world, seeking to add to the silvered libraries of Tel'Merus.
Curious But Isolated
All drow elves have a strong inborn gift for magic, a skill they do not let go to waste even at a young age. All drow elves know some basic form of magic and have some degree of schooling in it, even if their profession is not magical in nature - to the Drow, all things are better improved with magic. No matter what a drow elf chooses to be in life, they have an insatiable curiosity for it, and have a constant desire to learn more. Many choose to be mages or sorcerers - which in their field of work involves great study and learning - making their curious nature incredibly valuable as the mind of a scholar.
Naturally, a drow elf feels more at home studying ancient tomes or reading a long winded history book than they would ever feel in social situations. Many Drow prefer isolated lifestyles: ones where being alone feels completely comfortable and enjoyable to them. Although, when a Drow scholar shares a common interest or goal with someone, they can develop a very strong bond with them over time, as long as the knowledge keeps flowing.
